I am Native American from Casa Blanca, NM where I was raised and currently reside.  I attended and graduated from Laguna-Acoma High School in 1989, where i was An multi-sport athlete lettering in volleyball, basketball, and softball. I attended College at New Mexico State University.  I received my degree in Liberal Arts n 1994 and my Science degree in 2012.  I started my coaching career at Laguna-Acoma High School as an Assistant Volleyball Coach from 1998-2004 and Head Coach from 2010-2016.  In my experience as an educator I worked for the Pueblo of Laguna Dept. of Education in various positions such as Teacher Assistant, Home Base Teacher, and  Transition Coordinator from 1997-1999. I also worked for the Grants Cibola County Schools as an Athletic Coach, 8-12 grade for 14 years. Educaton and Athletics has been a big part of my life growing up and in my career.  It has helped me to learn and  gain the knowledge and experience I needed to become an Head Coach at the high school level. In my career as an Head Coach,  I have had the privilege to see my student athletes be successful on and off the court with the sport of volleyball. I have had 9 athletes recruited to play college volleyball, 8 North/South volleyball All-Stars (1A-3A),  4 All-Metro (1A-3A) student athlete of the year, 90% of Varsity team making the 3A All-Academic District Team (3.0-4.5 GPA), overall Varsity Team GPA 3.0. Lastly, I received the Albuquerque Metro High School Volleyball Coach of the Year 1A-3A for 2014 and 2016.  I believe in the philosophy of  discipline and commitment and a good work ethic are key in preparing a student-athlete to be successful on and off the court. In order to be prepared our athletes must be physically fit, fundamentally skilled, and mentally tough. These concepts must be taught at every level and built upon each year. Athletics builds character and teaches life skills at all levels. All Athletes must play to their potential and with intensity.
